Adaptation B- Rough Storyboard

The idea behind this adaptation of the fable 'The Astrologer' has the astrologer act as a kind of bird watcher. He lives on top of a mountain that looks down on a small settlement. His house is stationed at the peak, where he can see the stars clearly. In his world he can see the stars take shape into different types of birds, different species represent different types of prophesies. In the animation, the astrologer comes across a prophesy about a storm that will come in the near future. He makes a record of this, then goes back to watching the stars. It's here when he sees the stars take the form of a peacock, with gold shimmering colours in its feathers. This is a prophesy for great wealth. So taken by the appearance of the peacock, the astrologer rushes to follow the bird but it moves away quickly. In haste the astrologer grabs his binoculars and chases after the peacock. He runs out onto the wooden deck that supports his house, and fails to see the sudden drop in front of him. The film concludes with the astrologer plummeting to his death.

Narrative- First Animatic

This is the first animatic made for our narrative project. I plan on putting together another one, after seeing the mistakes through this one. A couple of things can be improved with the timing, but that is on my part as I put this together. What I have notices that may need to be changed is the written text on screen. Some of it needs to be shortened so it is easier for the audience to read quickly.

Narrative Project- Storyboard for Animatic

After reading Andy's script, I put together this storyboard. I hope to use this in the animatic so we can see a pre-vis of our animation idea so far.

Hookworm Holidays- Complete Storyboard for Animatic

Now the storyboard is drawn on Photoshop, I can move on to start my animatic for the crit.
For a hookworm, life may seem a dump.

So why not get away? With Hookworm Holidays!

Take a tour around the luxurious destinations of the human body! Start you journey at the foot.

A human with bare feet is an easy target.

Once you've found one, simply latch on!

And dig into the skin until you reach the bloodstream, your first attraction.

A relaxing boat ride up the bloodstream is the perfect way to start any holiday!

The stream will take you high into the torso of the human.

Here you will go to the mighty lungs, where you can try you hand at a bit of flying!

Up...

And up...

And up...

And away!

Where your next destination is waiting for you.

The mouth of the human.

Here lies a colossal mountain scape known as the teeth of the human. Enjoy yourself sight seeing, then go for a dip.

In the saliva river! This will continue you tour of the human body!

Fancy a break? Well now you'll visit our very own spa, located in the stomach.

Piping hot liquids to help sooth away the aches and pains!

And you trip concludes in the lower region of the torso, the small intestines.

Pipes upon pipes of comfortable accommodation waiting for you. So cosy, that you're not expected to leave. In fact you're welcome to stay as long as you like. Hookworm Holidays is fun for all the family! So why not bring the kids?

Why not make more kids?

Hookworm Holidays- Storyboard from Sketchbook

I've done a clearer storyboard in my sketchbook so I can work from it in Photoshop and create the storyboard for my animatic.

Hookworm Holiday- First Story Board

This is a very rough story board to help me plan ahead. As soon as I establish a full story board, I can see exactly what I have to design in terms of environments, characters and props.
'For a bookworm, life may seem a dump...'

'So why not get away? With Hookworm Holidays!'

'Simply attach yourself to a human foot. Carefully.'

'And then burrow down below the skin.'

'First, one of our tour guides will take you to the ravishing red rivers of the human blood stream.'

'Gorgeous views and tranquil settings, you will travel peacefully up the first point of interest.'

'The colossal lungs of the chest cavity.'

'Enjoy the gentle breeze of the human inhaling and exhaling.'

'Then try an adrenaline rush.'

'With our very own flying simulator.'

'The breeze will escort you to the sky high views of the mouth.'

'Take in the historic surroundings of the organic cave.'

'Up next is rafting the saliva rapids which will bring you to the spa.'

'Located in the stomach are the hot acid baths, to help melt away the stress that comes with the hookworm life.'

'Why not enjoy a bite to eat from our buffet whilst resting your rump?'

'And after a long full filling day, settle in for the night in the lower intestines.'

'But you can't stay too long...'

'Ha ha, just kidding. You can stay as long as you like. Hookworm Holidays are fun for the whole family, so why not bring the kids?'

'Why not make more?'
